GES 2017 U.S. Entrepreneur Application - DEADLINE: SEPT. 24

We welcome your application to participate in the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), which will take place November 28-30, 2017 in Hyderabad, India. 

GES is focused on bringing together entrepreneurs who are growing their ventures and investors who are making debt or equity investments.  Entrepreneurs will represent a diverse range of geographies, industries, business size and scalability.

The U.S. Department of State welcomes the opportunity for U.S. entrepreneurs from all U.S. states and territories to apply to participate in GES 2017. Hotel accommodation in Hyderabad, India, during the GES will be provided to all selected entrepreneurs, and additional travel assistance will be available to a limited number of selected entrepreneurs.

This application is intended for entrepreneurs who are U.S. citizens or residents only. Entrepreneurs from India will be selected through a separate process.

Please note that your submission does not constitute approval/acceptance.  You will be notified only if you are accepted as a GES participant. Funding for your participation in this event is not guaranteed. Selected entrepreneurs will be notified by mid-October.  We encourage you to check the GES website and social media platforms for other ways to engage.

Criteria for U.S. entrepreneur applicants

  • Proficient in English
  • A citizen or resident of the United States, with preference given to nominees who represent geographic diversity
  • Preferably involved in at least one of the GES 2017 focus industries: 1) energy and infrastructure; 2) financial technology and digital economy; 3) health and life sciences; and 4) media and entertainment
  • Preferably has not attended a previous GES
  • Preferably the head of or part of the management or leadership team of an established business or social enterprise with proven funding, client base or revenue stream
  • Demonstrate a need for investment, mentorship, business partnerships or networks, and/or capacity building and can explain how they would utilize or benefit from these resources
  • Have well-developed business plans and strategies, and can describe their business in 200 words or less
  • Preference will be given for businesses that are women owned or led; that prioritize gender hiring diversity or supply chain diversification; or can demonstrate how their business ties into the theme of Women First, Prosperity For All

PURPOSE: This information is collected to verify applicants who are foreign and U.S. entrepreneurs who have applied to participate in the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES).

ROUTINE USES: The information on this form may be shared with the GES 2017 selection committee and certain U.S. government officials. More information on the Routine Uses for the system can be found in the System of Records Notice State-33 , Protocol Records.

DISCLOSURE: Responding to this survey is purely voluntary. Failure to provide the information requested on this form may result in the applicant’s inability to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
